Did I Peak too Early?

I can’t decide if I have peaked too early,
I can’t decide if I’m gonna get another dance.
There’s a song that Frank sings
That the best is yet to come
But I wonder if the best has come
And I just missed it.

Oh my, what am I to do?

I’m not ready for this to end,
I have a lot more to say.
I’m don’t wanna put some grease on my nose
and wait for the end to come.

Don’t get me wrong there were moments that were exhilaring
But now I want some more excitations,
Not some paucity of new elations.
There are those that want to live their lives
Reflecting on their salad days
But I’m more interested in seeing something new, something hot,
something young, something exciting, something vibrant, something different.

I’m not ready for this to end
I have a lot more to say
I’m not ready for those early bird specials
And I really don’t like those khacki shorts.
